Today a Boone County jury returned a verdict of guilty with a sentencing recommendation of 50 years against the defendant in Case No. 19-CR-692, Commonwealth v. Ishmail Powell. The defendant was convicted of murder, attempted murder, and tampering with physical evidence.
First Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jason Hiltz served as lead prosecutor along with Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Alex Cantrill. Detective Mike Dickhaus with the Florence Police Department served as lead investigator.
