Today a jury convicted the defendant in Case No. 18-CR-483, Commonwealth v. Joshua Ward for the murders of Kelli Kramer and her nine year old son, Aiden. The jury recommended a sentence of life without the possibility of parole on both counts. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Leanne Beck served as lead prosecutor in the case.
The verdict was the culmination of a tireless investigation conducted by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department lead by Detectives Jason Keipert (retired) and Chris Hull along with contributions from numerous other members of the department and other agencies including the FBI and ATF.
On behalf of the Commonwealth, I would like to extend my thanks to all who contributed to this result. I would also like to recognize the family of Kelli and Aiden who have navigated this tragedy with grace and dignity.
